Erika & Dani
Erika & Dani, decided to do something very special, had things very clear and I like that in a couple. It was a three day-wedding, halfway through the season, it was going to be hard… but it would be worthwhile. Olot… a new place I found. With a lot of magic and wonderful people. This time I am not going to tell you much about this wedding and I will leave Presume de boda, do it, since Erika is one of the partners, one of the protagonists… Thank you Vogue for showing the story of Erika & Dani through my eyes.
Feel Like Holidays. Forest romantic wedding of Erika and Dani.
“Your wedding should be as you want.” In Presume de Boda Wedding Planners (www.presumedeboda.com)
this phrase is our mantra, which we repeat over and over again to all those couples who put themselves in our hands because they want a unique wedding, with personality. It was not difficult to imagine that, if someday I decided to marry, I would go until the end. This year it was my turn and I wanted to lead by example doing the best I was given. Devise a different wedding, full of allusions to what both Dani and I (Erika) are. Squeezing the most of our essence to reflect in our wedding what we really are, what really makes us special. The main premise in our minds: gather friends and closest family in a remote paradise that, logically, we would make our own. An intimate wedding and a concept that justified the idea of a three-day wedding in August and more than 600 km distant from our home, Madrid. We had to surprise with an event that convinced everyone to get together a few days and join us for a special moment. Planning? Relax, enjoy and live intensely a great experience, three objectives that we all pursuit when the so long-awaited vacation finally come.
This reason is what led us to create the first concept of the wedding, the leit-motiv of our event: Feel like holidays. Ultimately we wanted this: planning a 3-day mini vacation for 77/pax in the beautiful volcanic zone of la Garrotxa, a few kilometers from the city of Girona. Three intense days in which we were going to share a wonderful experience, making everyone close to us participants. That they felt that they would went on vacation without any kind of obligation, free, wishing to have fun in a different environment than we are used to, leaving even the most traditional circuits of the world of wedding.
The camp base and focus of all the weekend was Mas Can Batlle
a 5 prong rural hotel located in the heart of the volcanic area of La Garrotxa. The owners of the masia, Albert and Cristina, gave us all the facilities of the world to make the wedding to our own liking and to make us feel like at home. There we stayed, the fiancées with groomsmen and bridesmaids, while the rest stayed in nearby accommodation.
The meeting took place on Friday at noon. Recreating one of the most colorful scenes of Mucho ruido y pocas nueces (adapted to the 21st century), we organize for all guests a picnic in the garden in which everyone had to wear white. The chef who was in charge of all food from Friday and Sunday was our friend and Godfather Juan Pablo Santollo, who dealt with lunch and dinner providing a very innovative and elegant touch. This was followed by an afternoon of games, ping-pong, video games, twister for singles, football, pool, and music, with the climax in a night barbecue with a Mexican touch preceding the finishing touch of the evening, el festival de los talentos (the festival of talents), a karaoke that, with more or less mana, we were parading all to expose the artist that we carry within us (Sona llum and so professional, 687602786). Lyrics, music and lots of fun until the wee hours of the morning.
